And...I think Michael and Walt remain alive and are the ones being referenced with "Are they still alive?" Actually...this doesn't make much sense...but it's a starting point...

Im still stuck on the thought that the 6 who got off (Hurley, Jack, Kate, *Aussie, *Sayid, *DeadBody) had to be convinced by Jack to trade their own freedom at the cost of everyone else's freedom. Whether it was a trap, a lie; Im guessing Jack did something to get himself back to mainland, and will not be able to live with himself..
season 4 will take us through that story,
season 5 will take us through 4 of the 6 returning to the island to find the rest of them.
Season 6 will melt your face off.
I think something's wack with death and life in general on the island. Maybe the six were the only ones who were really "alive" - in real terms. Maybe the others- like Lock, etc, were actually dead, but given some sort of after-life or purgatory type experience on the island. Hence why Lock can walk and can't die, etc. Yeah, it's pretty unclear. I think the blond doctor girl is in the coffin, that's why Jack is the only one to go see her. And that's why he cries when he reads the newspaper.
Interesting comment from Linds...recall that Naomi told them they were 'confirmed dead' on the island...and we don't know about Jack's Dad and whether or not he's alive...hmm...
